He aha te mea nui o te ao.
What is the most important thing in the world?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.
Maori proverb

This whakatauki could not be more fitting to describe the feeling leading up to OUR SECRET GARDEN Fair this Sunday. Without the motivation and energy of the 'people', the aspirations we have for our children and school itself could not be what they are.

Primary schools have a six year window to set children off on a great path. It's at Primary School where you, as parents, also have the most scope to contribute and be part of making things happen. When we think about fundraising it's totally about parents making it happen for all to benefit. It's selfless. Without your hard work, our teaching staff would not have the opportunities or the time to learn, we would be understaffed, technology would be scant, support staff thin on the ground..... So, in anticipation of what will be a terrific day for our school, let's also celebrate what it feels like to be part of such a supportive, thoughtful and caring community.

Two more sleeps to go!

I hope lots of you can make next Friday at the Chocolate Fish!
  • What? The Board would love to invite all parents who have helped out and supported our school to continue to thrive over 2015
  • Where? Chocolate Fish Cafe, Shelly Bay
  • When? Friday, 13 November
  • What Time? 5.00-6.30 pm
This is a 'family friendly' event. The Board will supply platters for adults. Drinks and food for children can be purchased by parents. If it's fine, it will be magic. Plenty of room for children to play, parents to mingle and a great opportunity for us to thank you for your energy - whether it be fundraising, helping out in class, communications, sports teams, school trips, gardening, property, cooking..... on and on..... you name it!
